Massage Professionals - the directory of massage therapy by massage therapists
So how professional is the massage profession?  How do the public discern an unqualified massage therapist from a qualified massage professional?  To be quite honest it can be very difficult.  I am in my fourteenth year of practice with four years formal study yet the person around the corner who did several weekend courses looks just as qualified.  There are short courses giving out diplomas and there are associations now accrediting them.  Even some of the large associations have varying levels of accreditation.  There are great therapists out there who are very qualified - choose carefully. Find out what association they are with and research the association requirements for the therapy they offer.

Huge Massage Table Range
Why not buy your massage table for a fraction of normal retail?   Delivery throughout Australia. Prices start from around $80.00 and include fixed, height adjustable, folding and portable.  Why pay hundreds more dollars for a massage table than you have to?

Massage Table with Carry Bag Massage Table with Carry Bag   (From $149.00)
Thick cushioning and re-enforced corners ensure a comfortable massage experience while packing it up is as easy as folding the table away --there's even a carry bag, so transporting the table from place to place is a breeze!

Course and College Thinking of a course in massage
It really is a fantastic career and that is speaking with over 14 years experience as a massage therapist.  You must choose your college and course carefully.  The style of massage you choose as a career must suit your needs such as your physical build but also the market place.  Don't learn a style of massage that has no demand in the area you intend to work.

Course and College A massage table is so important for you and your patient
Your massage table or chair is one of the most important items you own as a massage therapist.  Not only does your massage table need to be right for you to work with (the table needs to be the right height, width, etc to suit your body shape) it needs to feel comfortable for your patient or client.

Want to be a massage therapist or work in a day spa?

Massage is hard work, very hard work.  It is physically demanding and can put a lot of stress on the therapist physically, mentally and emotionally.  Very few massage therapists earn a high income.  You can only work on one person at a time and clients can only afford to pay so much.  Also, you can only do so many in a day or week.  Many massage therapists I speak to who are working for a day spa complain of being overworked and poorly paid.  There aren't as many jobs as the colleges make out and very few who pass their course survive working for themselves. Sounds a bummer, doesn't it.  You can survive and do well, I have been massaging full time for 14 years (now in my own boutique day spa).
